Samsung left its fans disappointed by making it official that there will be no Galaxy Note 21 this year. The statement came from Samsung’s President and Head of Mobile Communication TM Roh himself. However, the CEO had already indicated that we might not see The Galaxy Note 21 this year.

There have been many rumors stating that Samsung is planning to bring The Galaxy Note Series to an end. However, that is also not happening, Samsung is just skipping the launch of the Galaxy Note this year. Note Series is Samsung’s flagship series next to the S Series. Let’s look into the reasons why there is no Note Phone this year:
1. Shortage Of Chipsets

This year saw an enormous shortage supply of Graphics cards & processers and Mobile Chipsets were no exception. The massive demand for smartphones and limited production due to COVID-19 protocols caused the supply to diminish, this may have caused Samsung to be cautious in terms of mass production of the Galaxy Note. When the Note phone gets launched, it sells like crazy, given the current scenario it might have caused trouble for Samsung to mass-produce the phone.
2. Too Many Flagship Phones Already

Samsung has launched its flagship S Series earlier this year, following the launch was its mid range phones in the shape of the Galaxy A Series. Few months after the launch, again we are heading towards the #Unpacked2021 with the launch of 2 flagship devices, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. This massive influx of Samsung Flagship devices could cause the demand for the Note device to diminish which can result in low sales. The S Pen is also supported with the flagship S21 Ultra, which can also result in low demand for the Galaxy Note 21.
3. Diminishing Returns

Just like any other commodity, there are Diminishing returns in tech. Samsung has been launching flagship devices twice a year since 2011. 10 years of uninterrupted launches of Flagship devices and now 2 more Flagship phones -You can only innovate so much. With more and more Flagship devices being added to the market, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for tech companies to keep bringing new features to smartphones. Giving Note Series a break can certainly help in R & D for the next year’s launch.
As Note fans, we can hope that Samsung doesn’t discontinue the production of the Note Series once in for all.
