Xiaomi shocked us by launching the Redmi Note 8 2021 Edition. The Redmi Note 8 was a popular mid-range smartphone launched in 2019. To celebrate its success, Xiaomi launched a 2021 limited edition. Fans were wondering if other smartphones will get relaunched or not. According to recent rumors, Xiaomi Mi 6 2021 Edition could be in the works.
The story starts from last month where Lei Jun (CEO Of Xiaomi) posted on Weibo that there are still 2 Million users of Xiaomi Mi 6. On that post, there was a comment asking for the same compact phone as Mi 6. To which the CEO replied ‘Received’. And surprisingly, on the same day, a new Xiaomi device was spotted by Xiaomiui. This device is codenamed ‘Mercury’ and comes with a 120Hz display, 12MP pixel binning primary sensor, ultra-wide, and a 5x telephoto lens.
Now how can we say this phone is Xiaomi Mi 6 2021? Well, the Mi 6 came with a Mercury Silver color. It hints that this phone could be the Mi 6 2021 Edition. However, take it as a pinch of salt for now as these are just rumors and leaks.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Highlights
The Xiaomi Mi 6 was a flagship device launched in 2017. It came with some great internals of that time. It featured an iconic yet simple design. Probably, one of the best designs by Xiaomi. Coming to its specifications, the smartphone featured an IPS LCD Panel of 5.15-inch with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
It featured a dual-camera setup on the rear comprising a 12MP primary and 12MP telephoto lenses. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 powered the smartphone. A 3350mAH battery is present inside Mi 6 with a charging capability of 18W. Other notable features of Mi 6 include USB Type-C, Stereo Speakers, front-mounted fingerprint, and stainless steel frame.
