It has been 4 years since Nintendo launched the Nintendo Switch. After seeing the massive success of the console it’s natural to expect the company to work on a better version. So reportedly Nintendo Switch 2 is in production and will launch with a bigger & better display, larger battery and many more features.
Nintendo Switch 2
The name of the next switch isn’t confirmed yet, it can be called the Switch 2, the Switch Pro or maybe even a completely different name, but we will call it the Switch 2 for now. This updated version of the Switch will come with some big changes that are mostly positive.
Battery
The current switch uses a 4310mAh battery and rumours are that Nintendo will upgrade the battery to an even 4500mAh. This bigger battery will make not much of a difference as the console will also get more powerful and the joycons will have an increased battery life as well.
Display
Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a 7″ OLED Samsung Display with 1080p resolution, it will be a very big improvement as the current switch uses a 6.2″ LCD. The Switch 2 will also be able to upscale that resolution to 4K when docked. This will be a rigid OLED panel, according to sources. This is a cheaper alternative to the flexible panels that are usually built into higher-end smartphones.
Chipset
The console will receive a more powerful chip from Nvidia to be able to run more graphic-intensive games and also to perform DLSS to upscale the resolution when docked.
Launch Date
The Switch 2 isn’t official so we don’t have a launch date, but according to sources, we can assume that the new console will be launched at E3 which will be held in mid-June.
Price
We have a rough estimate that the Switch 2 will cost around $400 (PKR 63,000). We also have the news that the Original switch will be discontinued but the Switch Lite will still be available.
