Apple Foldable Smartphone
To be part of the new & hot foldable phone market, Apple is reportedly also working on a foldable smartphone. According to one of the most reliable Apple analysts, Ming-Chi Kuo, the tech giant is working on a foldable iPhone of its own, further, he also said that the phone might be ready by 2023.
Kuo was able to get some supplier information for specs and further details. For instance, the display will be about 8″ in diagonal when unfolded and will have a QHD+ resolution. Samsung will be the supplier of the displays but will use silver nanowire touch tech developed by TPK due to its compelling advantages over Samsung’s Y-Octa approach.
These specs suggest that the phone might have a similar form-factor as the Galaxy Fold, but leaks of iPhone flip phones have also been seen or heard. Kuo stated that the shipment target of the said foldable device is believed to be between 15 and 20 million units. However, this plan of Apple may vary depending on the market conditions, if the demand for foldable phones falls, they might never do it!
On a side note, other leaks point at other companies like Oppo and Vivo may also join the foldable market sooner or later, maybe even by the end of this year!
