iQOO’s flagship smartphones are finally unveiled, they are the iQOO 5 and the iQOO 5 Pro. The flagship iQOO 5 series is launched in China today and will be making its way to the global markets next. iQOO 5 and 5 Pro comes with highlighting features like fastest charging speed, higher refresh rate displays, and top cameras.

iQOO 5 & iQOO 5 Pro – Beautiful & Smooth Displays

The iQOO 5 series features a 6.56-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The vanilla version is a flat display whereas the Pro variant comes with a curved display. The display comes with complete features including the 240Hz touch response and 1,300nits of peak brightness. Moreover, the display is HDR10+ standard.
Not A Quad Camera, But A Capable One!

The iQOO 5 & 5 Pro doesn’t on a compromise on cameras either. The iQOO 5 comes with a triple rear camera comprising of 50-megapixel with OIS alongside a 13-megapixel ultrawide snapper and a 13-megapixel portrait lens. The 50-megapixel sensor is the Samsung GN1 that is also used on Vivo X50 Pro Plus.
The pro variant ditches the 13-megapixel depth sensor for an 8-megapixel periscope module capable of 5X optical and up to 60x hybrid zoom. It is also capable of recording 8K video. On the front, a punch-hole notch houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. In short, this isn’t a typical camera setup found on a gaming-oriented smartphone, but a top-notch camera.
Performance = Gaming Oriented

The iQOO 5 series doesn’t come with the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus. However, it comes with a still capable Snapdragon 865 chipset. The chipset is paired with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. What makes the performance gaming oriented is the high-end cooling features.
As you know, a 5G phone tends to heat up more compared to a 4G phone. Hence, iQOO has opted for a VC heat sink. The company is confident that their cooling system can cool down the CPU temperature by 12 degrees Celsius.
15 Minutes To Fully Charge

Previously, the Chinese companies unveiled their 100W+ charging techniques. One of them was in which claimed to have the potential for a 120W fast charging phone. The iQOO 5 Pro comes with a 4,000 mAh battery. 120W Flash Charge can fully charge an empty battery to 100% will only take 15 minutes. While, in the first 5 minutes, you will be rocking 50 percent juice.
The 120W charging speed is insane. But it raises the question of durability. iQOO answered this question by adding an array of sensors and algorithms which monitor the battery cell’s temperature control to prevent any damage. Moreover, the cooling system will keep the phone cool.
The vanilla version which is iQOO 5 comes with a bigger 4500 mAH but a 55W charging speed which takes 50 minutes for a full charge.

The iQOO 5 series features dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, X-axis linear motor, USB-C, stereo speakers with built-in audio chip, facial recognition, and Hi-Res audio support. You will also get an in-display fingerprint unlock for security.
Pricing & Availability

iQOO 5 comes with two colors including blue and gray. The iQOO 5 starts at CNY 3,998 ($576) for the 8/128GB variant. While the variant coming with 12/128GB storage is priced at CNY 4,298 ($620) and the high-end model with 12/256GB comes at a price tag of CNY 4,598 ($662).
iQOO is the global partner of the BMW M Motorsport and hence the 5 Pro comes with BMW theme. There are 2 colors to choose from including the aforementioned Track Version and Legendary Edition color schemes.The 8/256GB model is priced at CNY 4,998 ($720) and the 12/256GB variant retails for CNY 5,498 ($792).
You’ll be able to grab the phone in China from 24 August. Whereas, the international availability remains un-answered. The iQOO 5 series seems interesting as of now as it acts as an all-rounder.
