Oppo Reno 4 & Oppo Reno 4 Pro Specifications, Design Leaked

Reno is one of the most popular series from Oppo. The popularity comes from the use of elegant design and an adequate camera setup on Reno smartphones. Not long ago, Reno 3 series was unveiled globally while in China, the Reno 3 series was announced in last year’s December. Now it is the time for Reno to come with a new pair of Reno smartphones aka Oppo Reno 4 and Oppo Reno 4 Pro.

Thanks to leaks, and certifications we have some information regarding the specifications of the devices. Meanwhile, the leaked posters show the device in its full glory. Let’s start with the design language which Oppo Reno 4 series will be rocking.

Oppo Reno 4 & Reno 4 Pro Design

Reno is popular for bringing elegant design to the Reno series. These are one of my personal favorite smartphones because of their design. And this time, it is no exception! However, the newer design language may not be liked by everyone. This time around, we will be getting a bold camera design. There are big rear sensors vertically aligned on the top-left corner. As usual, this design language is also inspired by Apple iPhone 11 series but thank god, this is not ctrl+c and ctrl+v. Instead, they made it look a little different.

Talking about the camera setup,  the Oppo Reno 4 will feature a triple rear camera setup. Led a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The camera setup is completed with a laser autofocus system. On the front side, the Oppo Reno 4 has a 32-megapixel primary selfie sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary selfie camera enclosed in a pill-shaped notch.

For 5G connectivity and ultimate performance, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC. Two variants are expected including a 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. The Oppo Reno 4 is listed to come with a 4,000mAh battery with support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging.

    Oppo Reno 4 Pro Specifications

Oppo Reno 4 Pro features a slightly larger 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels). But the main difference will be that this time the display is curved.

Snapdragon 765G is also powering the else brother and other specifications will be similar to the younger brother including the faster charging.

Like the Reno 4, the Pro model also has a triple camera setup as-well. This time led by a 48-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 12-megapixel low-light video sensor, and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. Like on Reno 4, Reno 4 Pro also features a laser autofocus system. There’s a single 32-megapixel selfie camera upfront on the Oppo Reno 4 Pro compared to the dual-camera setup on the vanilla Reno 4.

Oppo Reno 4 and Pro are listed to run on ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10.

My First Impressions Of Reno 4 & Reno 4 Pro

On the speculated specifications and the leaked design, I can say these smartphones are capable enough to be a part of the Reno series. I also liked the fact that Oppo is experimenting.

Let me very frank to you, the name TechBoiler actually means the person who boils tech (sarcasm).  And to make it easy to understand, we are not a marketing company for manufacturers like the majority of other content creators. The good, is good. The bad, we will point out. And there is currently a lot of marketing gimmicks in the name of “Quad-camera setup” which usually consists of macro sensors, which are pretty much useless (in mid-range segment). Like on the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the macro sensor is a shitty addition.

Here is when Oppo Reno 4 series comes with the triple camera setup, which is actually a risk considering the general public will always opt for more instead of better. Anyways, the Reno 4 series is expected to hit markets in China soon then followed by a global release.
